Priya is a seventh grader at the all-girls school run by Pardada Pardadi school in Anoopshahar, Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Gaypresh, works on minimum wages, and her mother, Kusam Devi, is a housewife. Her favourite subject is English and she wants to be financially independent when she grows up.
Thank you, Cristen (x2), Jeffrey, Mark and Lynn, Butson, Craig, Ellen (x2), and Brian and Malissa (x4), for coming together to provide an entire year of computer training and spoken English classes to Priya. This will give her the much needed confidence to seek a job outside the village where she has grown up.
Thank you too, Carys, for donating a set of two school uniforms, winter clothes and footwear to Priya.
Priya is a girl who may not know exactly what she wants to be, but she knows that it is financial independence that will give her emotional security and help her bring about a change in society. Thank you for keeping the fire in her wings.
