One of six children, Dolly dreams of becoming a teacher

Thank you for gifting a year of meals to Dolly.

Thirteen year old Dolly lives in the village of Bichchikhahra in Uttar Pradesh, with her parents, two sisters and three brothers. Her father, Herpal is a laborer, and her mother, Lazza, is a housewife. She studies in grade 6 at the school run by Pardada Pardadi, and her favourite subject is English.

Your generosity will ensure that Dolly gets a nutritious lunch and two snacks at school every day for an entire year. Since Dolly comes from a traditional family where women eat only after the men have finished their meal, these are virtually the only meals that Dolly will get every day. These meals are prepared and served by the students themselves, and Dolly will also serve on kitchen duty for a week during the year.

When she grows up, Dolly wants to become a teacher, and perhaps even return to her alma mater to teach.
