Pinki is Determined to become a Great Teacher!
posted February 13, 2011

Sixteen year old Pinki resides in the village of Shivnagla in Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Yadam, is a farmer while her mother, Kappori, is a housewife. The total earnings of Pinki’s family place the seven member family well below poverty line. All of Pinki’s family lives in a three room house that has no toilet or electricity, and their only source of water is through a hand pump.
Education would never have been a priority for the family, but now that she is enrolled in school, the family realizes the value of the education that Pinki is getting through Pardada Pardadi. Pinki is in grade 9, and her greatest ambition is to become a teacher of Hindi or English at Pardada Pardadi, and to help support her family.
Thank you, Winda, Laura, James (x2), Alice & Brad, Bill, Eddie, Ellen, Charlie, Julia, Akiko and Bill & Colleen. Your donations of a month of tuition will ensure that Pinki is able to attend school for a full year, and better her current attendance record of 98%.
Thank you, Meredith, for donation a set of school uniforms to Pinki- she virtually lives in her school uniforms . Her school uniform is really the best set of clothes she has.
