Nishu is in Class 6B at the Pardada Pardadi School. Her father is a laborer and her mother is a housewife. Nishu has one sister and two brothers.
At school, Nishu’s favorite subject is English. However, Nishu loves to play cricket; it is said that she is a great player! Since her parents are illiterate, they are happy that Nishu has been given this opportunity for an education they could never provide!

Kajal is currently in Class 6A at Pardada Pardadi. Her father is a farmer and her mother is a housewife; Kajal and her family live in the village of Khalore in a two bedroom house.
In school, Kajal’s favorite subject is English. Since there are many volunteers right now at the school, she is able to practice her English all the time with them. Even though Kajal is a bit naughty sometimes, she is an extremely intelligent girl. She hopes to be a great teacher in the future.

At Pardada Pardadi, Manchal is in Class 6A. Her father is a driver while her mother is a housewife in the village of Khaulor.
Manchal is extremely brilliant and a great leader in her class. Her favorite subjects are English and Math; with this, Manchal has ambitions to become a doctor! Her whole family depends on her education at this school.

Soniya comes from the village of Khaulor; her father, Inderpal, is a driver, and her mother, Savitri, is a housewife. She has three sisters and one brother plus one buffalo in her family!
Soniya is an extremely intelligent girl in her class, even if she is a bit naughty sometimes. However, she has excellent leadership skills which will take her a long way. Soniya’s favorite subjects are English and Math, and with them she wants to be a good doctor. As a bright and ambitious girl, her family depends on her success at Pardada Pardadi. Soniya is one of the many girls in which her family depends on.

Aarti is in Class 6A at the Pardada Pardadi School. She is from the village of Khalore; her father is a shopkeeper, while her mother is a housewife. Since her mother and father are literate, they fully support her education at this school.
Aarti is an extremely intelligent girl; her favorite subjects are English and Music. However, she loves the theatre and acting. Her future goal is to become a good music teacher. With the help of the current volunteer Graeme, she is learning how to sing and read notes!

Mukhi is from Jiroli village in India, and she is currently in Class 7 at the Pardada Pardadi School. Even though both of her parents are illiterate, her favorite subject is English. She loves speaking English during class to the teacher and to her fellow classmates. In the future, Mukhi wants to become a computer teacher.
Mukhi’s favorite game is Kho-Kho, and her favorite foods are cauliflower and puri. Furthermore, her favorite Vocational group is hand embroidery. She likes the school very much because of the opportunities it is giving her.

Guddo is in Class 7 at the Pardada Pardadi School. Her favorite class is Hindi, and she likes doing hand embroidery as part of her vocational training. Since many of the girls’ families cannot afford proper nutrition at home, Guddo also loves the food at the school.
Guddo’s plan for the future is to become an engineer!

Meena is a very intelligent girl in 7th grade at Pardada Pardadi school. Her favorite subject is science which is very important since she wants to be a famous doctor.
She also enjoys athletics at school. Meena really enjoys playing badminton, and she is a very good cricket player too.

Even though Anu is a quiet girl from Class 7, she loves to sing and dance. Her favorite subject is English, but she also enjoys playing cricket. Furthermore, she likes the Pardada Pardadi School very much because of all the subjects that are taught such as vocational skills, academics, games, computers, and especially English!
Anu is from Anupshahr, India where she lives with her three brothers; both of her parents are literate and support her education.
